Tanya has extensive experience in private (clinical) and public settings such as mainstream and special schools, kindergartens and childcare centres. She is experienced in working with children and adults with conditions such as Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), Developmental Delay, Global Developmental Delay (GDD), Intellectual Disability (ID) of varying levels, Down Syndrome, Savante Syndrome (an extremely rare and unique condition of giftedness), speech/language/pragmatic delays, stuttering and vocal nodules. She is experienced with Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC) including the widely used Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS), Proloquo2go iPad application, voice output devices and communication boards.

12 Years Of Experience

Tanya Relan (BHlthSci, MSpPath, MSPA, C.P.S.P) has over 12 years' experience as a paediatric Speech Pathologist, specialising in Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and special needs. She graduated from La Trobe University with a Double Degree in Bachelor of Health Sciences/Master of Speech Pathology in 2012.

Commitment and passion for ongoing Professional Development

Tanya has a passion for learning and regularly attends Professional Development events in order to refine her skills further. She utilises principles from the world renowned Hanen programs "It Takes Two to Talk" and "More than Words". She has completed the Smooth Speech and Lidcombe Program for stuttering (developed in Australia) and has completed a number of Professional Development courses based on the development of a multitude of speech, language, literacy and social skills. Tanya has also attended the well known Dr Michelle Garcia Winner’s Social Thinking workshop to assist children with pragmatic difficulties such as those who have High Functioning Autism.
